Question:

I planted a lot of nasturtium seeds in an old wheelbarrow about 2weeks ago has the directions on the packets said plant march to April. Then the cold snap came and we had a frost the other night I am wondering if that will have killed of the seeds I grew these last year and they were superb but it was a lot milder last spring should I wait a week or two to see if they sprout or buy more seeds and replant when the danger of frost has passed if that ever happens this year winter just seems to go on and on thanks for any advice you can give me

Answer:

Nasturtiums are hardy annuals which means that they can be planted directly in the ground without any protection. So, in theory, they should be fine with the cold weather. The only thing that may affect them is if the soil becomes too wet. Give them another couple of weeks and if there is no sign of germination, re-sow at the end of April.
